About Penda Homes
Small on purpose.
Penda Homes runs two licensed residential care homes in Menifee, California. Both are capped at six residents — not because the state requires it of every home, but because six is the number where a caregiver still knows exactly how someone likes their coffee, whether they slept well, and what's actually bothering them before it becomes a problem.
Six residents, not sixty. Everybody here gets called by name.
Most senior care marketing uses the word “facility.” We don't love that word. A facility is a place you're processed through. A home is a place where the same caregiver who helped you get dressed this morning is the one who'll sit with you at dinner tonight. That distinction is the entire reason Penda Homes exists in this size, on residential streets, instead of in a larger institutional building.
What “small” actually changes
In a home of six, a caregiver isn't managing a rotation — they're present. Meals are cooked, not trayed in from a central kitchen. Medication schedules are tracked by people who see each resident multiple times a day, not shift workers reading a chart for the first time. And families don't need an appointment to ask a question — they can just ask, in person, on a visit.
Led by a nurse, not a corporate office
Both Penda Homes are owned and operated by Mildred Kiminyei, a licensed Registered Nurse — not a management company, and not an absentee investor. That's not a small distinction. It means the person making the call on a medication change, a fall risk, or whether a resident needs to see a doctor today has real clinical training, not just a corporate policy binder to follow.
Mildred Kiminyei, RN
Owner, Penda Homes Assisted LivingMildred founded Penda Homes to bring RN-level clinical judgment into everyday residential care — the kind of attention that's usually reserved for larger, more expensive facilities, delivered instead in a six-resident home on an ordinary street. She's directly involved in both homes, not managing them from a distance.
Licensed, and held to that standard
Both Penda Homes are licensed by the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, as Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE):
The Westridge Home — 26042 Westridge Ave, Menifee, CA 92586 — License #331881420
Casera Court Home — 31241 Casera Court, Menifee, CA 92584 — License #331881892
Both homes are in Menifee, but most of the families we talk to are searching from farther out — Murrieta, Temecula, Lake Elsinore, and the rest of Southwest Riverside County. All of it is a short, easy drive for a tour.
Come see it yourself
We'd rather you judge Penda Homes by walking through one than by reading about it here. Tours are unhurried, by appointment, and we're glad to answer hard questions in person — about staffing, about cost, about what a hard day actually looks like.
